SPECIALIST INVESTIGATION & REPAIR

Central heating leak detection

Find concealed leaks behind repeated heating pressure loss.

Repeatedly topping up a sealed heating system can be a sign that the source of the pressure loss needs investigation. A hidden pipe leak is one possibility, but boiler components and other system faults can also be responsible. We investigate the evidence instead of assuming the pipework is to blame.

When this service can help

  • Boiler pressure dropping repeatedly
  • Damp near radiators or concealed pipe routes
  • Heating pressure falling without an obvious drip
  • A suspected leak under a floor

How we investigate

We review how quickly pressure falls and any earlier boiler checks. Testing can help distinguish the heating circuit from other sources of pressure loss. Thermal patterns, acoustic listening or tracer gas may then help narrow down a concealed pipe leak.

Before the appointment

Note the pressure when the system is cool, how often it needs attention and whether a heating engineer has already checked the boiler. Do not remove boiler covers or attempt internal repairs.

From the findings to the fix

A successful investigation needs the system history as well as readings on the day. Once a pipework leak is located, we explain the access, repair it and test the affected system. Boiler appliance work may need a suitably qualified heating engineer.

For residential work, the £1,195 total includes investigation, access, the plumbing repair, parts and materials, testing and a report. The £100 booking deposit is deducted from the total. Commercial instructions are quoted separately.

Decorative and remedial reinstatement after access is excluded. The repair workmanship comes with a 12-month warranty. We explain the job before the appointment is confirmed.

GOOD TO KNOW

Your questions, answered.

Does pressure loss always mean a hidden leak?

No. Pressure loss can have several causes. An assessment helps establish whether concealed pipework needs specialist investigation.

How does the £100 deposit work?

First, contact us about the leak. Once the job and appointment are confirmed, we send you a payment link for a £100 booking deposit. This is deducted from £1,195, leaving £1,095. Sending an enquiry does not take a payment or confirm an appointment.

Will you need to lift floors or open walls?

Detection helps narrow down the source before access is made. Some leaks require floors, walls, ceilings or external surfaces to be opened so the pipe can be repaired. We explain what is needed and aim to avoid unnecessary disruption.

Can I claim through my insurance?

We provide a detailed Trace & Access report for you to submit to your insurer. Acceptance and reimbursement depend on your policy, excess, limits and insurer’s decision. Check any approval requirements with your insurer before work begins.
