An underground supply leak can lose water long before a wet patch reaches the surface. A rising metered bill, a change in pressure or a patch of persistently wet ground may be the first clue. We investigate the buried pipe route and narrow down the likely leak position before excavation.
When this service can help
- Wet ground during otherwise dry weather
- A meter registering unexplained use
- Water appearing near a path or driveway
- A suspected leak between the meter and the building
How we investigate
Where accessible, we establish the supply layout and compare checks at the meter and internal isolation point. Acoustic equipment can help locate leak noise, and tracer gas may help when pipe material, depth or ground conditions make other methods less conclusive.
Before the appointment
Tell us where the meter and stop valve are, whether the supply is shared and whether any pipe plans are available. Let us know about driveway access and buried services you are aware of.
From the findings to the fix
The loudest sound or wettest patch is not automatically the point of failure. We use the available evidence to plan a targeted opening, expose the pipe and repair it. The residential price includes the excavation required for the leak repair; reinstating the decorative surface afterwards is excluded.
For residential work, the £1,195 total includes investigation, access, the plumbing repair, parts and materials, testing and a report. The £100 booking deposit is deducted from the total. Commercial instructions are quoted separately.
Decorative and remedial reinstatement after access is excluded. The repair workmanship comes with a 12-month warranty. We explain the job before the appointment is confirmed.

GOOD TO KNOW
Your questions, answered.
Does the price include digging to access the pipe?
Yes. Access and excavation required for the residential leak repair form part of the £1,195 package. Decorative or remedial reinstatement after access is excluded.
How does the £100 deposit work?
First, contact us about the leak. Once the job and appointment are confirmed, we send you a payment link for a £100 booking deposit. This is deducted from £1,195, leaving £1,095. Sending an enquiry does not take a payment or confirm an appointment.
Will you need to lift floors or open walls?
Detection helps narrow down the source before access is made. Some leaks require floors, walls, ceilings or external surfaces to be opened so the pipe can be repaired. We explain what is needed and aim to avoid unnecessary disruption.
Can I claim through my insurance?
We provide a detailed Trace & Access report for you to submit to your insurer. Acceptance and reimbursement depend on your policy, excess, limits and insurer’s decision. Check any approval requirements with your insurer before work begins.
